The annual FOCUS Thanksgiving Dinner took an interesting turn this year when a typical Joburg thunderstorm resulted in a power cut that dimmed our dinner but did not dampen our spirits! Fortunately power was soon restored, enabling us to continue with an evening of laughter, singing and dancing as we celebrated another year of God using the hard work of His saints to complete Christ’s ministry of reconciliation to sinners. Many ministry workers, supporters and students attended; committed leaders and fresh additions to Bible studies relished the chance to finally wear outfits they had been planning for weeks in advance! We were treated to the debut of our very own FOCUS band, as well as performances by Blaque Nubon and Lilly Million. Bryanston Bible Church’s Ross Lester also delivered an encouraging message on the significance of what we as Christians do with our lives for the sake of Christ.

We are especially grateful to God for the new workers that will be appointed from next year to lead the work at Wits, which by God’s grace will be significantly expanded in the coming year as we seek to grow the fledgling Bible studies that have been planted on education, medical and main campuses. We also thank God for your support – both financially and in prayer – which has played a crucial role in growing the work of FOCUS this year.

Thanksgiving to God is such an important part of doing the work of FOCUS in a way that delights God!

Let’s thank God for:

The many students who have come to a saving knowledge of Christ this year.

The students that have grown in faith and love.

The faithful teaching of God’s word by staff and student leaders.

Those who faithfully continue to support the work of FOCUS.

Please pray earnestly for FOCUS Wits as we expand the work in 2018.
